KRISTOPHER NIELSEN

Associate

Kristopher has spent much of his legal career as a litigator. He received his Bachelor of Commerce (with Distinction) and his Bachelor of Laws from the University of Alberta, while volunteering with Student Legal Services in the community outreach program and organizing a cancer fundraiser for the Cross Cancer Institute. Upon graduation, he moved to Calgary and completed his articles working first at a national law firm, then practiced at a boutique law firm dealing primarily with professional negligence and insurance defense law, and some entertainment law. Kristopher has appeared before all levels of Court in Alberta.

In 2010, Kristopher moved to Vancouver to pursue a career in acting and directing. He appeared in commercials, movies, and TV shows, such as, Arrow, Once Upon a Time, Intruders, and Rogue. He also wrote, directed, and acted in a short film, Fall of Night, which won a commendation from the Canada Short Films Festival. Tradecraft, which he also wrote and directed, has become something of a cult classic.

Since joining WBA in 2023, he has been involved in employment law, insolvency, and commercial debt recovery. He is focused on providing his clients with fair, accurate, and timely advice so that they may achieve their goals in an efficient and cost-effective manner.

Outside of work Kristopher enjoys travel (Petra, Jordan and Easter Island, Chile are two highlights), golf, skiing, writing, and spending time with his family and friends.
